Culmi Air-Cond & Refrigeration Parts Sdn. Bhd. represented JAPAN SUN COIL COMPANY, LTD. for Malaysian market with their reputed high quality SUNISO COMPRESSOR LUBRICATING OILS since the year of 2015 and since then the acceptance of the Industry Players are with positive manner.

On 11-10-2016, Executive Director of Sunoco (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Mr. Shuji Nakame and Mr. Akihiko Sato (Overseas Sales Group 2) Visited Culmi's office to express his appreciation on the Business Cooperation between CULMI AIR-COND and JAPAN SUN COIL COMPANY, LTD. to promote and market their JAPAN SUNISO OILS for Malaysian market.

They took this opportunity to further enhance the product knowledge with his technical sharing and made new product introduction such as:-

1) SUNISO 4SA - For Ice Machine using R-717 (Ammonia)
2) SUNISO 4HT - For Cold Room using R-717 (Ammonia)

New packaging of the product was highlighted again with more impressive oulook and with market trends approach. The product name of SUNISO for POE type such as SL-32S / 68S / 100S / 170S / 220S changed to Sunice was deliberated over again.

The International Ozone Day 16-9-16 Celebration Held On 29-9-16 At Hotel Grand Dorsett, Subang Jaya, Selangor and was opened by YB Dato Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Bin Tuanku Jaafar, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.



2016 Theme: Ozone and climate: Restored by a world united.”

The Honorable Minister of Natural Resources And Environment’s Message For The International Ozone Day On The 16th September 2016
 
Our Earth is protected from the harmful ultra violet (UV) rays of the sun by the ozone layer. The increase of ozone depleting substances such as Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC), Halon, Carbon Tetra Chloride (CTC), Methyl Bromide (MBr) and Hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) in the atmosphere has led to the thinning of ozone layer. This subsequently leads to the rise of skin cancer, eye cataracts, weak body resistance to fight diseases and harmfully affects the food chain.
 
Malaysia has successfully phased out CFCs, halons and CTC since January 2010. On 1 January 2015, the use of Methyl Bromide as pesticide in agriculture sector, fumigation of post-harvest commodities and structural fumigation of post-harvest was prohibited in Malaysia. However, the use of MBr for quarantine and pre-shipment treatment is allowed to prevent introduction of quarantine pests.
 
The International Ozone Day is celebrated every year on the 16th of September by 197 countries which are parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. This year the celebration theme is “Ozone and Climate: Restored by a world united” and supported by the slogan “Working towards reducing global-warming HFCs under the Montreal Protocol”.
 
The theme reflects collective efforts of the parties to the Vienna Convention and the Montreal Protocol in protecting the ozone layer over the past 3 decades and the global commitment to combat climate change.

The celebration included the ceremony of :-

1) Handling over MOU Project under Mini Reclaim for 6 companies.
2) Appointment with handling over the Certificate for New Authorised Training Centre (ATC)
3) Launching of Sistem Online Certified Service Technician Program (eCSTP)

Attended Power Talks organized by Star Media featured Speaker Tan Sri G. Gnanalingam (Founder and Chairman, Wesports Holdings Executive) on 24-9-2016 at Manara Star, 15 Jalan 16/11, Petaling Jaya. 

He transformed a barren, swampy island into a leading, state-of-the-art multi-cargo seaport terminal in Port Klang called Wesports. Under his stewardship, Wesports, which employs an all-Malaysian workforce of 4,500 people, has six terminals with the capacity to handle 11 million containers. As of 2015, it controls about 76% markets share in the container traffic passing through Port Klang. Today, it is one of the top five terminals in the world in terms of productivity and the second business port in South-East Asia.

The conventional wisdom in the world of marketing is that the customer is the “King”. But is does not apply for Tan Sri G. Gnanalingam, the founder of Wesports Holding Bhd.

For the tycoon who built the port from scratch into one pf Asia’s business container terminals, his employees are “the king” while the customer plays a lesser role of “queen”.

Story : Tony Fernandes seized the opportunity to buy AirAsia for RM1 and today, the airline has grown from a two-aircraft company to one that has 180 planes operating from five countries and carrying 55 million passengers across Asia.

It was passion and determination, coupled with a skilled and committed workforce, that drove him and his partner Datuk Kamarudin Meranun to succeed.

In October 2013, DuPont announced plans to spin off of its businesses, DuPont Titanium Technologies and DuPont Chemcals & Fluoroproducts, into a single new company. Part of that work is setting on a name for the new company. And that name is The Chemours Company. The short version of the company trade name will be, simply, Chemours.

In July 2015, DuPont spun off its specialty chemical division into a new publicly-traded entity called The Chemours Company, whose refrigeration products Chemours's Distributor will distribute in this region. Look for the new brand, new packaging and new marketing materials.

While a separate company from DuPont, Chemours holds the lineage of DuPont innovation in refrigerants that pioneered FREON, the most recognizable name in refrigerants for years, and many of the 400 series blends and CFCs & HCFCs including R-12, R-22, R-11 and R-113. Today, Chemours is a leader in alternative refrigerants to R-22 and R134a as well as other refrigerants. Soon they will be distributing HFO-1234yf a replacement to R-134a in automobiles.

Malaysia HCFC Phase-Out Management Plan (HPMP) Stage II Consultative Workshop was organized by Department Of Environment (DOE) on 26 January 2016 with objective to obtain Industry Players' feedback before firming up the working mechanism under Stage II of HPMP. 

Under Stage I of HPMP where the 2015 timeline covered the "Prohibit the manufacture, assembly and import of HCFC-based aircon equipment of 2.5hp and below (for use in Malaysia)" which was well implemented effective 1 January 2016. 

Subsequently DOE issued a letter of the firmed implementation cum annoucement dated 29 January 2016 to touch on this subject. Intrested party you are most welcomed to request from me for the letter copy. Please send email to beh@culmi.com.my attention Mr. Beh.
