SUNISO, originally developed in 1927 by Sun Oil Company (SUNOCO), holds a significant place in the history of refrigeration oils as one of the earliest products of its kind. Over the decades, the brand has undergone multiple ownership changes through mergers and acquisitions, reflecting its continued value within the industry.

In Japan, Japan Sun Oil Company (JSO) has played a central role since 1966, consistently manufacturing and supplying SUNISO products across the Asia-Pacific region. Despite changes in trademark ownership, JSO has maintained stable production quality and supported the brand’s reputation globally.

In recent developments, trademark rights for SUNISO have been consolidated under Petro-Canada Lubricants, with the licensing agreement with JSO set to conclude at the end of 2025. Following this transition, JSO will continue producing the same high-quality mineral refrigeration oil under its own brand, Sunice.

While the brand name will change, the formulation, production standards, and performance will remain consistent. This ensures continuity for customers and reinforces JSO’s long-standing contribution to the refrigeration industry.

AMS Advanced Material Berhad is launching a RM32.77 million IPO on the Bursa Malaysia ACE Market, priced at 29 sen per share, with listing scheduled for April 23, 2026. The company specializes in processing and trading aluminum and copper for high-growth sectors like semiconductors and aerospace.
